Elizabeth Blakemore

Liz Blakemore is originally from Omaha Nebraska and graduated from East Carolina University with a BFA in Dance Performance with a concentration in Modern in 2011.

She studied with the Omaha Modern Dance Company and the Omaha Academy of Ballet, where she studied modern, improvisation, and ballet. Under the direction of Dr. Valerie Roche at Creighton University, Liz dedicated seven years of study as a member of the Company of Dancers where she achieved her Royal Ballet Exams and Certifications. In 2003 she started dancing with the Omaha Dance Project under the direction of Sara Mau and Johnathan Fagan.  She privately studied tap with Patrick Roddy since the age of 9 years old and furthered her studies at ECU with focuses on Modern, Jazz, Tap, Improvisation, and Composition. She has performed in many main stage performances as well as a piece under the direction of well-known tap dancer, Lane Alexander of the Chicago Rhythm Festival in August of 2010. This is Liz’s 3rd year at Artistry in Motion, as well as teaching and judging company auditions and competitions around the North Carolina area. Liz aspires to further her dance education and share the wonderful gift of dance with everyone she teaches.
